Surgery for a Physical Therapist: Pre-Op & Post-Op interviews.

I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep the night before, it’s been a long process to get here. We drove to Methodist West Hospital and checked in. I was really impressed with the hospital, it was very inviting and did not feel like a typical hosptial. Here is a picture of the the lobby when we entered the main doors.  By this point in the day I was really hungry… no food since midnight. I had forgotten about this aspect of surgery preparation. Soon we were called back to begin preparation for surgery. First came changing out of my Under Armour and exchanging it for a hosptial gown and footies. Here’s some more pictures. Once everything was in place

and we were waiting for the anesthesiologists this is what I was thinking.

Soon after this they came and then I was put on a cart and rolled into the surgery suite. I love the surgery suite since they always have it nice and cool in there. I was then transfered onto the surgery table and positioned. They gave me some more instructions and then started to give me the anethesia. When I’ve had surgery in the past I always try to stay awake as long as I can. They ask me to start counting backwards from 10 and before I hit eight I was out.

After the surgery, while I was in recovery, Dr. Lynn Nelson, came to talk with Jennifer and this is what he had to say about the surgery.
